It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kow Chye (KC) Cheah on 9th January 2025.

KC was a true giant of the construction industry, whose wisdom, humility, and expertise earned the admiration and respect of all who had the privilege to work alongside him. Quietly spoken yet profoundly impactful, KC’s considered approach and well-researched insights ensured that when he spoke, everyone listened.

KC played a pivotal role in the establishment of North Projects. His instrumental efforts in securing North’s appointment to the $1B+ Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre marked a transformative milestone for our company, setting us on a path to delivering many Project Assurance advisory roles across Australia and New Zealand.

Over his remarkable career, KC guided some of the most significant social infrastructure projects of our time, including:

  • Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre
  • Melbourne Convention Centre Development
  • New Royal Children’s Hospital
  • New Royal Adelaide Hospital
  • New Schools PPP
  • Ararat Prison
  • KC’s legacy is woven into the fabric of our industry, and his contributions will continue to inspire future generations of construction professionals.

You will be deeply missed by your colleagues at North Projects and the wider construction industry.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to KC’s wife, Janice, and to, Min-Yee and Amir, Jason and Martina, Yew-Hwan and Frances and grandchildren Thomas, Olivia, Charlotte, Akari and Isaac.
